Baked Apple Slices

Baked Apple Slices

Try not to eat these by the handful - but if you do, they make for a great way to temper a sweet tooth - have them on the side of a killer sandwich instead of potato chips!

Ingredients

  • 4 apples washed
  • ½ tbsp granulated white sugar
  • ½ tsp ground Cinnamon
  • tsp ground Nutmeg
  • tsp Chinese Black Cardamom ground

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 225*F and line 2-3 baking sheets with parchment paper. Thinly slice apples as thin as you can on a mandolin on it's thinnest setting or with a sharp knife as thin as possible. Lay out slices onto baking sheets and space out so that slices aren't touching.
  • In a small bowl, stir together sugar and spices (grind any whole spices first) until combined. Sprinkle lightly over top apple slices and bake slices for 1 ½ hours, flipping over halfway through to crisp slices. Bake a further 30 minutes if slices are still soft. Let cool to room temperature and store in an airtight container.
